The General Secretariat of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of an explosion that occurred on Saturday outside the Italian Consulate in Cairo, killing one person and injuring others.

OIC Secretary General Iyad Ameen Madani expressed his denouncement of this criminal act, stressing the solidarity and support of the OIC with the Egyptian government in its confrontation of terrorism.

He expressed condolences to the family of the victim and his wishes for the quick recovery of the injured.

The Secretary General reiterated the firm and principled position of the OIC in condemning terrorism in all its forms and manifestations; and the need confront all the dimensions of this phenomenon.
