The U.A.E. Red Crescent Authority has begun distributing assistance via the "Our Heart with the People of Syria" Campaign, in the province of Erbil in Iraq, under the supervision of the Consulate-General of the U.A.E. in the Kurdistan region. The campaign is a humanitarian initiative called for by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to support Syrian refugees who are facing the severe cold weather in Syria's neighbouring countries. On its first day, the campaign began in Qushtapa Refugee Camp, in the western suburb of the city of Erbil, benefiting 5,000 refugees. Rashid Mohammed Al Mansouri, U.A.E. Consul-General in Kurdistan, hailed the significant role of the RCA and the directives of the leadership to support the refugee camps in Iraq, where the U.A.E. is one of the first countries to send aid to the region.
