The Pakistan Taliban voted to promote the militant group’s second highest ranking member, Khan Said, also known as Sajna, to replace deceased leader Hakimullah Mehsud, militant commanders and security sources said. Mehsud was killed when a missile from a US drone struck a compound in a village near the capital of North Waziristan on Friday, Reuters reported. He is one of the highest profile targets to be killed in the CIA’s controversial drone program.
