Pakistan has successfully tested a locally-developed ground-to-ground ballistic missile capable of carrying a nuclear warhead, it was announced here today.

A statement issued by the Media Department at the Pakistani armed forces said the experiment was conducted on purely-Pakistan-made 2750 kilometers-range Shahin 3 missile.

The statement said the missile has precisely hit its target and achieved the anticipated objectives of the test, noting that the experiment was part of routine tests conducted to develop the national missile system.
