Pakistan’s authorities decided on Thursday to beef up security measures in Islamabad city ahead the Eight Developing Nations (D-8) summit following the suicide attacks that took place in the cities of Karachi and Rawalpindi. Pakistan’s Interior minister Rehman Malik ordered authorities to stay vigilant and scale up security measures against any attempts to sabotage the D-8 summit that will take place in Islamabad. Earlier on Wednesday, two bombs went off within minutes outside a Shi’ite mosque in the southern city of Karachi, killing at least one person and wounding several others.
