Political parties staged protests, demonstrations and sit-ins in different parts of the country against the allegedly rigged polls on Monday. Some candidates who lost the May 11 general elections in Pakistan staged demonstrations, as they were not satisfied with the results. Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf staged sit-in in eastern city of Lahore and Karachi, in south of Pakistan, and alleged that staff of Election Commission of Pakistan and police were involved in the rigging. Muslim League-N activists demonstrated over purported irregularities in NA-208 outside the Jacobabad press club and later the demonstrators staged sit-in in front of the office of Returning Officer. The supporters of Former Governor, Ghulam Mustafa Khar, staged a demonstration outside office of Returning Officer over rigging in Muzaffargarh, consitutency NA-176. Religious political party Jamaat e Islami (JI) also carried a sit-in and alleged that Mutahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) was involved in rigged polls. JI also accused MQM for threatening their workers and stopping them from casting votes. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activists also staged protest demo outside Hyderabad press club over alleged irregularities in polling.
