Pakistan Tehrik I Insaf (PTI) nominated Asad Qaiser and Imtiaz Asad Shah were elected as the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the provincial assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Thursday. PTI has got majority in KPK province by winning 35 seats in May 11 general elections. PTI, Qaumi Watan Party and religious political party Jamaat e Islami has agreed on a power sharing formula for the formation of government in the province. Jamiat Ulema I Islam (JUI-F) withdrew its candidates at the last minute for the post of speaker and deputy speaker in KPK. The first session of the KPK assembly was summoned on Wednesday where nomination papers were submitted for the post of speaker and deputy speaker. PTI candidates Asad Qaiser and Imtiaz Asad Shah were elected unopposed as KPKs Speaker and Deputy Speaker after the candidate of JUI-F withdrew its nomination papers. Moreover, the PTI candidate Pervez Khattak has submitted his nomination papers for the post of provincial Chief Minister.
