Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al Malki wrapped up a visit to New Zealand, during which he discussed moves to revive the Middle East peace process.

Malki also discussed with his New Zealand's counterpart Murray McCully ways to go to the UNSC to issue a law to end Israel's occupation of the Palestinian territories and establishing a Palestinian state, within the June 1967 borders, with Al Quds as its capital.

Malki, according to a statement by the Palestinian Foreign Ministry, underlined the important role played by New Zealand in the UNSC.

He further underlined the importance of unity of international efforts to render this idea a success.
