The Palestinian Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs has slammed Israel for holding the bodies of Palestinian martyrs.
This act runs contrary to international law and the Fourth Geneva Conventions, which prohibit detention of the dead, Abdel Nasser Ferwana, head of the Census Department of the commission, said Friday.
The detention of bodies of the martyrs is a crime against humanity, ethics and religion, he said.
He noted that Israel has always held hundreds of bodies of Palestinian and Arab martyrs.
