On Friday 1st February, reports from Palestinian outlets said the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas will meet with representatives from Hamas and the Islamic Jihad, as well as other Palestinian factions, on February 8 in Cairo for a PLO reform summit. Abbas and Hamas chief Khaled Mashaal met in Cairo earlier this month in efforts to advance Palestinian reconciliation, and this meeting will continue those efforts.
