Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdullah asked for more active European Union peacemaking efforts, stressing the need for increased financial and political support for the State of Palestine. Hamdullah, during his meeting with EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton on Wednesday evening in his office in Ramallah, expressed hope for the success of US efforts to revive the Middle East peace process. He underlined that the political and economic tracks of the peace talks cannot be separated.
