The spokesman for the Palestinian presidency lauded a US court decision striking down a disputed law that would have allowed Americans born in Jerusalem to list their birthplace as Israel on their US passports.

"The decision is so important and in harmony with the international legitimacy," Nabil Abu Rudeineh said n statement carried by the official WAFA news agency.

He added that the decision is a clear message that Israel is an occupant state.
