Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas arrived in Amman on Saturday, returning from New York, after Palestine won to upgrade its UN status to a non-member observer state in the United Nations on Thursday night. The President was welcomed by a large crowd of Palestinians who live in Jordan, to celebrate Palestine’s membership in the United Nations. Abbas is scheduled to return to Ramallah on Sunday where an official and popular celebration will be held on the occasion.
