Mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo

Mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo on Saturday called on the French people to engage with Tunisia and extol the charms and merit of the country that is deeply committed to meeting the challenges of the century, Tunisia's official news agency reported.
"I am in Tunisia to show the support and affection of Parisians with Tunisians, following the tragic events of the Bardo Museum," she said during a visit to the Tunis Town Hall.
While praising the close ties between the cities of Paris and Tunis, Hidalgo reviewed the initiatives launched by the City of Paris to make Tunisia better known, citing, in this regard, the installation of information panels about the city of Tunis and the decoration of the Town Hall with the colours of Tunisia, on its Independence Day.
She also said that the General Assembly of the International Association of Francophone Mayors (AIMF) will take place next October in Tunis, recalling that this decision was taken last December at a meeting in Kinshasa.
