Seoul - Yonhap
South Korean President Park Geun-hye said Friday the new year should mark the beginning of peaceful reunification of the two Koreas. "This year is the first Year of the Blue Horse in 60 years," Park said at a New Year's meeting with senior government officials and political leaders, referring to the Chinese zodiac year. "In this valuable year, we must build peace on the Korean Peninsula where tensions and the pain of division persist and must open the era of reunification." She did not elaborate, but emphasized nonetheless that the duties and principles of those in attendance would be important in achieving that goal.
