Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Jaafar Hassan on Sunday highlighted challenges facing Jordan as a result of hosting Syrian refugees. IN a meeting with the UN Secretary-General\'s Special Representative for Disaster Risk Reduction Margareta Wahlstrom, Hassan pointed to the huge pressures the refugees posed on local services, resources and the national economy. The UN official said she understood the challenges facing Jordan, stressing the need for international community support of countries hosting Syrian refugees to help them continue to provide services for the displaced people.
