Vatican Pope Francis sent a message of appreciation for President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and the Egyptian people, stressing support for efforts exerted to achieve security and stability and counter terrorism in the Middle East.

In a meeting with Egypt's new ambassador to the Vatican Hatem Seif el Nasr Tuesday, Francis also congratulated Sisi on the completion of the roadmap to democracy in Egypt.

Seif el Nasr posted the pope on Egypt's vision about regional and international developments, as well as means to fight terrorism and violence and achieve peace and development.

The ambassador also said that Egypt is keen on boosting historical relations with the Vatican City.
