Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of Saint Mark Diocese opened a new church in the Fifth Settlement of New Cairo on Monday.

The pope inaugurated the Virgin Mary Church in the neighborhood of Al Narges.

He then held a mass to mark the first day of the three-day Fast of Nineveh.
