President Abdo Rabbo Mansour Hadi asserted Tuesday that efforts to translate the political settlement into concrete action are moving swiftly based on the Gulf initiative and UN resolutions. During his meeting with the restructuring army committee and the Jordanian, US and European expert military teams, Hadi expressed satisfaction of what has been achieved so far, stressing the importance of adopting a modern scientific style in the restructuring process. He indicated to the basic rules that should be embodied in the army, particularly the national unity, impartiality, justice and equality, stressing that \"they will be democratic and social guarantee not to cause impasses or disagreements.\" The delay in merging the army directly after the unification resulted in serious repercussions, such as multiple loyalties, commands and accountabilities, which in return led to confusing duality until the 1994 civil war, Hadi said. He said that the unification was imposed by the Yemeni people, who really wants the unity that is still the Yemenis\' utmost goal, stressing that Yemen\'s destiny is linked strongly with its unity and stability. We have to benefit from the international and regional support to avoid the wars and separation, the President said. The Jordanian, US and UK ambassadors talked during the meeting, accenting their readiness to present all required assistance and expertise. They said that the Yemeni side is working in a scientific, precise and proficient way, praising the achievements made by the committee up to now.
