Washington - BNA
US President Barack Obama said that he will not carry a grand peace plan during his visit to the region later this month. He stressed that both the Israeli and Palestinian sides are equally responsible for the resumption of bilateral peace talks. Speaking during an hour-long meeting with the American Jewish leaders, President Obama said that he will emphasise to the Israeli people that a deal with the Palestinians remains the only way for their country to achieve long-term security. He also asserted that the US-Israeli relations will remain solid. On Iran, the President said that diplomacy is still an option, noting that the US and Israel share similar stances towards the Iranian issue.
