Prime Minister Sherif Ismail has said the government will not tolerate any violations by security men against citizens.

During a press conference with Interior Minister Magdy Abdel Ghaffar Monday, the prime minister called on policemen to respect citizens in line with the directives of the president of the republic.

He said new measures will be taken during the coming phase to organize relations between the police and citizens, pointing out that any policeman committing violations will be punished.

He called on policemen to respect laws and use arms in cases set by laws in order to protect the lives of citizens.

The prime minister's statement came days after accusations to some policemen that they used excessive force against citizens.
