Thousands of people marched in cities around Germany to protest against Turkey\'s controversial and lethal crackdown on demonstrators in Istanbul and elsewhere in Turkey. In Frankfurt, around 3,500 people demonstrated peacefully against the deployment of police in Istanbul and other cities in Turkey, where a planned development project in an Istanbul park triggered a massive but peaceful outpouring of protests since Friday, according to the German News Agency (dpa). In Berlin, about 600 people gathered at the Turkish embassy, to express solidarity with the protesters in Turkey. The German Police said the protest was peaceful.
