Russian President Vladimir Putin will receive Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar el Abadi during his visit to Moscow to start Wednesday, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

In statements, Peskov said that the meeting will take up Russian-Iraqi relations.

The two officials visit will also discuss cooperation in the military, security and economic fields, Russian press sources said.

The sources expected Maliki to ask for a new Russian arms deal worth 3 billlion dollars.
