Egyptian Prime Minister Hisham Qandil launched Thursday an initiative aiming to improve quality of lives for children living outside the framework of family. According to the Prime Minister, the initiative aims at unifying efforts exerted by governmental and non-governmental institutions to support children and establishing quality standards in orphanages. During the ceremony also marking the Orphan\'s Day, Qandil stressed the importance of providing support and protection for orphanages to create healthy and safe environment for orphans. Qandil reiterated the government\'s efforts to address issues that are mainly affect lives of children including school dropout, and violence against children. The event was attended by ministers of social affairs and insurance, education, culture, higher education, along with a host of public figures.
