Qatar called on the international community, especially the UN Security Council, to "immediately and urgently" protect the Syrian civilians from all kinds of aggression. Deputy Permanent Representative of Qatar mission to the United Nations Yousef Sultan addressed the UN Security, in a ministerial meeting, by saying that the United Nations should seek a solution to protect the Syrian civilians against armed groups especially after the Syrians lost their confidence in the international community's support. The repressive Syrian regime has killed 70,000 in the past two years along with thousands of prisoners and millions of Syrians who sought refuge in neighboring countries. The Syrian regime met peaceful protests with violence which undermined the dignity, freedom and security of the Syrian people. This violence was a disrespect to all international and humanitarian laws. The Qatari diplomat also touched on the Palestinian issue by condemning the daily Israeli aggressions which went against the Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian. He called on stopping all sorts of violence immediately and swiftly.
