Gaza - KUNA
The Quartet envoy to the Middle East Tony Blair arrived in Gaza Strip on Sunday coming from West Bank through Beit Hanoun Crossing northern the strip.
Blair met ministers of the Palestinian national conciliation government for around an hour to discuss obstacles hampering reconstruction in Gaza, besides the siege imposed on the strip through the crossings' closures, as well as matters related to distribution of cement to people whose properties and houses had been damaged or destroyed in the latest Israeli military offensive on the enclave.
An official source said in a statement that Blair will visit to the bombarded areas in Gaza to see firsthand the heavy destruction inflicted by the Israeli forces to the Palestinians' houses.
This visit is first for Balir to Gaza since the Israeli war on the Strip on August 26, 2014.
