Egypt’s Rafah border crossing opened exceptionally on Friday so that Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the Palestinian deposed government, could return to the Gaza Strip after concluding a multiple-day visit to Egypt that saw him discuss Gaza-related issues with Egyptian officials. Haniyeh’s accompanying delegation comprised of 14 senior officials from Gaza, an official at Rafah crossing said Friday. Rafah border crossing is normally closed on the weekly holiday of Friday.
