Hundreds of activists on Friday gathered in front of the Norwegian parliament headquarters in Oslo to urge the Norwegian government to recognize a Palestinian state.

A number of political, parliamentary and public figures in Norway, as well as Palestinian Ambassador to the European country Amro al Hourani, took part in the protest.

Hourani called on the Norwegian government to recognize a Palestinian state, pointing out that such recognition would help promote peace in the Middle East.

He expressed thanks to the Norwegian people and government for supporting the Palestinian Authority.

Around 40 Norwegian institutions and organizations took part in the rally.
