Re-polling has started in six polling stations of Karachi city of southern Pakistan on Saturday, due to the orders of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). ECP ordered for re-elections in the six polling stations but Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Awami National Party boycotted the re-polling, as they were demanding for re-elections in the for entire constituency. However, Mutahida Qaumi Movement and Muttahida Deeni Mahaz (MDM) are having a close contest in the constituency. The re-polling was ordered on the complaint of MDM candidate and senior leader of Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat, Aurangzaib Farooqi. He complained that the blast on May 11 that killed almost dozen people affected the balloting process in some six polling stations. Meanwhile, the army is deployed inside and outside the polling stations of the constituency to ensure law and order for re-elections.
