The Yemeni Foreign Ministry denied on Friday reports that the Iranian embassy was targeted by the Saudi-led coalition aircraft, describing it these reports as groundless.

Yemen has severed its diplomatic relations with Iran since October, an official source with the Yemeni Foreign Ministry said.

The source has blamed Houthi militants and supporters of former Yemeni president Ali Abdullah Saleh for protecting all buildings of diplomatic missions and international organizations in the city.

He warned the Houthis of using headquarters of the diplomatic missions in any military operation as it constitutes a blatant violation of all international charters and norms and expose Yemeni citizens and their property to danger.
