American Ambassador to Damascus Robert Ford denied Wednesday holding any meeting with the Syrian Islamic Front. In exclusive statements to Al Arabia News Channel, Ford said the front refused to meet with an American delegation without any reason but we are ready to do if at their request. There is doubt regarding the aim of getting arms depots in Bab al-Hawa, but the US does not want to accuse any party yet, he added. My country has had a steady position since the beginning of the Syrian revolution as President Bashar al-Assad has fully lost legitimacy. Any reports on a transitional rule in Syria are inaccurate, he stressed. He also denied holding any meeting with the Syrian regime in the presence of Russia, adding there are a series of meetings with Russia to prepare for the Geneva 2. Geneva 2 is scheduled to take place on January 22, in the presence of the five permanent members of the UN Security Council, the neighboring countries of Syria, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Germany, Italy and others.
