Romania has adopted a new law designed to help families whose land or dwellings were confiscated by previous communist governments, according to AP.More than 200,000 such claims exist, and the law passed Tuesday complies with a demand by the Council of Europe to repair such historical wrongs.People with deeds for such properties will be entitled to reclaim them or get government compensation. Some 10,000 buildings already have been returned to former owners, but it would be very expensive for the current government to settle all the outstanding claims, going back as far as the 1940s
