Romania has announced its support for Egypt’s bid for a 2016 non-permanent seat at the United Nations Security Council.

Romanian Foreign Minister Bogdan Aurescu had sent a letter to his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry to affirm his country’s support to the bid, according to a statement released by the Romanian embassy in Cairo.

Egypt’s contribution to the UNSC will be valuable as Romania seeks to promote multilateral cooperation with Cairo, it said.
