Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov

An international conference on ways to resolve the crisis in Yemen could be held in Geneva until June 18, before the start of Ramadan, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov said Wednesday.

"No concrete date for talks in Geneva has been set so far, but Gatilov hopes that the sides would agree to sit at the negotiating table before June 18," Gatilov told RIA Novosti.

Yemen has been in turmoil since Houthi rebels seized its capital Sanaa and forced the government out in January.
