Moscow strongly condemns the deadly attack on Egypt’s prosecutor general Hesham Barakat, the Russian foreign ministry said on Monday.

"Moscow resolutely condemns this clearly purported crime," the ministry said.

The ministry expressed "Russia’s solidarity with the Egyptian people in their struggle against the global terrorist threat and supports the Egyptian leadership’s efforts towards the stabilization of the situation in the country."
