Russian security forces ended week-long exercises to disperse protests similar to what took place in the Ukrainian capital of Kiev last year.
Director of Security Forces' information department said some 40,000 people and 1500 military equipment were involved in the exercises which dealt with security disorders similar to what happened in one of the neighbouring countries earlier. He was referring to Ukraine.
He told the Sputnik news agency that the exercises involved the use of tear gas, water cannons and non-lethal weapons.
