Russian President Vladimir Putin held Friday telephone calls with French President Francois Hollande and German Chancellor Angela Merkel to discuss developments in Ukraine.

A statement released today from the Kremlin said that the three leaders agreed on the importance of implementing the Minsk agreement, which was adopted on February 12. The agreement involves withdrawing all heavy weapons and establishing demilitarized zones in the East of Ukraine.
