Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov on Thursday said that his country opposes a ground operation in Yemen.

At a press conference here, the Russian diplomat explained that such a move will escalate the situation in that country.

He underlined in this regard the necessity of launching a political process to end the Yemeni crisis.
