Russia has proposed amendments to a UN Security Council (UNSC) draft resolution on Yemen, Russian sources said on Friday.
Foreign Ministry Spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said armed confrontations should immediately stop and parties involved in the conflict should seek a political settlement for the conflict.
He called on UN special envoy to Yemen Jamal Benomar to be deeply involved in the settlement.
There is no other alternative than the political settlement in Yemen, said Lukashevich.
