Moscow tries to avoid a comprehensive catastrophe in Syria, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement Thursday.

According to Sky News, the ministry added that Moscow was ready to offer to the US information about its military cooperation with Syria through adequate channels.

Moscow does not support Syrian President Bashar Al Assad's regime, rather works on protecting the Syrian state, the ministry concluded.
