South Korea affirmed its support on Thursday over a deal by opposition groups in Syria to form a broad coalition against President Bashar al-Assad, pledging to actively join international efforts to end Syria’s civil war. South Korean Foreign ministry spokesman Cho Tai-young said South Korea “welcomed the formation of the Syrian National Coalition by anti-government groups,” reported South Korean news agency (Yonhap). The opposition groups agreed to form a coalition in Doha on Sunday, in a potential move to get greater international assistance to topple the al-Assad government.
