The South Korean coast guard said Saturday it had started efforts to recover one of its vessels that capsized two days earlier off Jeju Island. Coast guard officers said a crane was being used to salvage the sunken boat, Yonhap News Agency reported. Once the wreckage is raised, investigators will attempt to determine what caused the fatal accident. Five sailors -- three Filipinos and two Chinese -- died in the Thursday maritime mishap, which occurred while coast guard vessel was conducting a rescue operation for a sinking Malaysian cargo ship.
