Shiite cleric Muqtada al Sadr called on the UN to side with Iraq and increase the international support in all the fields to face current challenges.

This came Tuesday during Sadr meeting with UN representative to Iraq where they discussed the latest political and security developments in Iraq and the region.

The UN representative welcomed Sadr stances and strenuous efforts to support stability and spread peace in Iraq.

In a press conference after the meeting, the representative said that his first meeting with Sadr was beneficial.
