Tehran - SANA
Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said the crisis in Syria was a global issue and all states were responsible for settling the crisis and putting an end to the ongoing violence in that country. During a meeting with his Algerian counterpart Mourad Medelci in Tehran on Thursday, Salehi regretted the operations of collective killing of innocent people in Syria. Salehi said both sides exchanged views on regional and international issues, hailing Algeria's role in solving and settling the regional crises. Meanwhile, the Algerian Minister appreciated Iran's initiative to hold international meeting on Syria, stressing the need to stop bloodshed in Syria through diplomatic means. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the " Friends of Syria Conference" held in Tehran on Wednesday with the participation of more than 40 countries under the title of " Political Solution and Regional Stability." The final statement of the Conference stressed that the Syrian comprehensive national dialogue is the only way to resolve the crisis in Syria, asserting rejection of any foreign interference and supporting the international efforts for solution, particularly the upcoming Geneva Conference.
