Saudi King Salman bin Abdel Aziz left the Washington after an official visit to the US where he met with US President Barack Obama.

Both leaders tackled regional and international issues of mutual interest.

At the end of the visit, the Saudi king sent a thank-you cable to Obama lauding the historic and strategic ties between both states.
