The UN Security Council (UNSC) has adopted a resolution to extend the mandate of the UN Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) until 15 March 2016.
The resolution urged for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire in Libya.
The UNSC urged all Libyan parties to engage constructively with the efforts of UNSMIL and secretary-general special representative Bernardino Leon to achieve a political agreement to resolve the ongoing conflict.
The council has sought the immediate formation of a national reconciliation government and agreement on interim security arrangements to stabilize the country.
