The government on Tuesday issued special pardons for some 6,000 people, mostly those convicted of minor offenses committed in the course of trying to make a living, the justice minister said. A total of 5,925 people will benefit from a special pardon proposal for Lunar New Year's Day, marking the first since President Park Geun-hye took office last February.
