Jewish settlers Monday set fire to al-Ribat mosque in Orif village, near the West Bank city of Nablus, burning out the carpets, according to a local activist. Ghassan Douglas, in charge of settlements file at the Palestinian Authority in the northern part of the West Bank, told WAFA that a group of settlers at dawn set fire to the entrance of the mosque which spread to inside and burnt the carpets, however, residents were able to set the fire out before it completely burn the mosque. Residents later confronted Israeli soldiers when they entered the village. Clashes broke out and soldiers fired tear gas canisters at the residents and houses, causing serious suffocations among them, including two children.
