Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah said Thursday participation in the recent African-Arab summit, hosted here in the last two days, was "unprecedented." The attendance materialized the slogan of "partners in development and investment," Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled told reporters on the sidelines of a ceremony hosted by Oman Embassy here to mark the National Day of Oman. Sheikh Sabah affirmed that Kuwait is keen on the continuation of African Arab summit. The chains of summit meetings began in 1977 but was suspended until 2010, he regretted noting that Kuwait is committed to holding the third installment three years after the one in Kuwait. Regarding the upcoming GCC summit, due in Kuwait next month, Sheikh Sabah said that the Ministerial Council will hold a meeting next week to prepare for the summit and work out its agenda. With regard to partnership between GCC countries with Morocco and Jordan, the minister said that "there is a real strategic partnership between all those countries," noting that there is a joint ministerial meeting with the foreign ministers of these countries at the end of next week. In regards to Yemen, the minister explained that Gulf states are keen to see the Gulf initiative is being followed through in Yemen, an issue which will also be on the agenda for next week meeting
