Dutchman Ben van Beurden is set to become the Chief Executive of oil company Royal Dutch Shell, the company said Tuesday. He is set to take over from Swiss national, Peter Voser, on January 1. Van Beurden is 55 years of age. He joined Shell in 1983 and served in a number of operational and commercial roles in the Netherlands, Africa, Malaysia, the US and, most recently, Britain. The outgoing Chief Executive Voser, who is 54 years of age, will leave shell after spending 29 years with the company. Shell is an English-Dutch multi-national oil and gas company. It is the world’s second largest oil company in terms of revenue.
